Lea RC name their new boats

Lea Rowing Club named their new boats yesterday.  Rich and I attended the naming of the new Explore Rowing boats, although a bit on the chilly side the rain stayed away.  The Mayor of Hackney had the job of naming the boats and pouring some champagne on them.  Lea were very innovative in naming the boats as they invited people to sponsor a boat and choose the name.  Some local children from London Youth Rowing came down and joined in a row past, along with some beginner rowers from the Metropolitan Police.  The Lea have really taken this project onboard and have in excess of 100 people lined up for their summer learn to row course.  Well done to Lea and thank you for a lovely afternoon.
