Completed a six session Sportivate funded school rowing project with Truro High School for Girls, Truro School and Redruth School. 16 students aged between 16 - 18 yrs coached slide seat rowing using surfboats as the stable craft. From complete novices holding the oar at the wrong end, to racing crews by session 6. Their next goal is the Cornwall Schools Indoor rowing Championships in Feb 2012 and then hit the surf in May.

Well done everyone. When I came to Devon recently I had my first good look at gig boats and surf boat rowing. I'm hoping that the next time I get down to thel West Country that I will be able to give it a go. It would be a huge change from rowing in fine boats on the Thames.
