Update from the Northern Region Club Development Conference

At the Northern Region British Rowing Club Development Conference on Sunday Anne Richardson from Explore Rowing ran an afternoon workshop.  The session started with an update of the project and the amount of clubs that are now involved, including the Sea Cadets, Sea Scouts and gig clubs.  We ran through the new website and all the ways that the clubs can share information and news:  E-mailing in stories, posting things on the website, writing blogs, sending in photographs  and following us on twitter.  After the success of the Learn to Row handbook, which is now going into its 3rd print run, two new publications are in the offing- an Introduction to Racing and an Introduction to Touring.  As a group session we split into groups and brainstormed on what could be written in a Racing handbook.  It was interesting to see the ideas everyone came up with, from those who are seasoned rowers to those who have never raced before.  We chatted about the upcoming Summer Series and all the events that are being planned for the coming summer.  The afternoon was a great success with lots of news and ideas shared.
