Spectators
Spectators are more than welcome. There are three brilliant vantage points along the River Tyne:
1. START: position yourself at the Newcastle Steps and you shall be able to see the first 1km of the event.
2. BRIDGES: get down to quayside in the centre of Newcastle. Position yourself on Millennium Bridge – a pedestrian-only bridge. We understand that you’ll want to get the best vantage points but please DO NOT STAND ON ROAD BRIDGES! Even though footpaths are provided, these get easily congested with just a few people so please avoid these bridges.
3. FINISH: stay on the north side and head east to the Fish Quays where you’ll be able to the crews cross the finish line. Alternatively, head to Tynemouth Rowing Club where you can walk along the sea wall and watch the crews make their way towards the beach.
