I've been learning to scull with Cardiff Bay Water Activity Centre - hoping to complete & pass my blades course by next Tuesday with view to join the local recreational club. I'm not sure if i want to compete but i'm interested in sculling tours or challenges... anyone know of any?

I can thoroughly recommend a hat and a neck warmer- both inexpensive and worth the boat's weight in gold once it gets colder!
A close fitting gillet is also a worthwhile expense if you're going to be out a lot in the winter. Rowing specific ones are quite pricey but you can often pick up running or cycling ones in sales and these are just as good.
Hope you keep enjoying the rowing!

Just completed my second learn to row session at Weyfarers Rowing Club. Getting better but still banging my thumbs! Must wear gloves next time to avoid scratching myself. The sessions are great, we came back today exhausted having rowing up past Walton Bridge and then back, a little ragged at the end though. Now I'll have to think of what kit to wear as the weather gets cooler. Any ideas?
