The first part takes you to the limit of freshwater navigation on the River Great Ouse before it becomes tidal at the historic Denver Sluice. The second part of the tour takes you upstream of the River Wissey thats character changes with every twist and turn. Do a U-Turn at Stoke Ferry and head back to Denver. The River Wissey tour is not suited to sweep oared boats and you must be competent at steering!
Being in the heart of the Fens, you'll soon realise that the majority if the waterway is a great deal higher than the land around it.

Frances Warns published an article about rowing on the Nene, which is republished on Norfolk Skiff Club blog at http://norfolkskiffclub.blogspot.com/2011/11/rowing-on-nene.html

Touring routes and facilities for rowers in Norfolk.
Now that the Explore Rowing initiative has taken off at Whitlingham and Oulton Broad and the Norfolk Skiff Club is attracting new members, its time to think about facilities for touring rowers on the Norfolk Broads. In fact all manpowered boaters have the same needs: somewhere to launch, parking for cars and trailers, places to eat, toilets and showers and accommodation (B&B, camping). Many of the facilities provided on the Broads are suited to boats with onboard accommodation. What we need is information about facilities suited to our needs.
I propose a catalogue of facilities specifically suited to manpowered boaters, organised river by river and published as a moderated Wiki. Moderators with knowledge of kayaks, canoes, skiffs and Explore boats would check that submitted information is appropriate.
Would Explore, or BR like to offer some webspace?

@norfolkskiffclub Thanks for the comment have you got any other routes you can recommend in the area?

There's free launching from the slipway at Hilgay on the Wissey. The Wissey is wider and more attractive (in places) than I had anticipated. For an account of a recent exploration see http://norfolkskiffclub.blogspot.com .
