This is part of the River Severn tour and is 23.8 miles long having five locks to navigate. It is necessary to contact British Waterways to arrange passage through the locks. When arriving at Upton arrangements must also be made for landing with the marina. Its a beautiful and peaceful route and well worth the effort. SBC will be happy to host clubs who want to take on the Severn.

On the 18th September 2010, SBC had 50 rowers and scullers taking part in this route to raise money for help4Heroes; this included eight beginners from the clubs first learnt to row course under the Explore Rowing project. It took over 5 hours because of time spent waiting for the locks to fill/unfill but there was some stream on and everyone was in high spirits.

This sounded like a really good day out and even better that it raised some money for Help for Heroes. Well done Stourport Boat Club
